Our Mission

Kindergarten Preparatory Preschool, Inc. (K-Prep) is committed to providing children, between the ages of 6 weeks to 6 years old and 11 months, opportunities to have creative, social, cognitive, physical, and educational experiences. These experiences are fostered through establishing warm relationships with both their peers and the adults who guide them. We aim to set each child on the pathway to learning through discovering, sharing, and understanding. K-Prep provides developmentally appropriate experiences tailored to support each individual child’s growth and development. Guided by the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS), K-Prep teachers create dynamic theme-based lesson plans with age-appropriate activities and opportunities that help children achieve their fullest potential and meet their developmental goals.

Our Philosophy

At K-Prep, we embrace a creative, theme-based curriculum that encourages hands-on learning experiences. We believe this approach enhances children’s individual growth, fosters independence, and nurtures creativity, self-expression, and self-awareness. Our philosophy recognizes that learning through play is a cornerstone of early childhood education. Play not only stimulates children’s senses but also promotes cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. Teachers at K-Prep play a vital role in creating a supportive learning environment. They communicate consistently with children to promote rich vocabulary, develop and implement lesson plans, and maintain detailed documentation and assessments of progress. By responding to children in a timely and nurturing manner, teachers help build confidence and foster strong relationships. We also believe in showing affection, as it provides comfort and helps children develop a strong sense of self. Additionally, we value the role of families, acknowledging that parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. Parent involvement and support are essential to the success of our program, and we honor each family’s culture, values, and their right to make decisions for their children. Parents are encouraged to participate in program activities, social events, and even join our Board or attend Board meetings. Together, we create a foundation that gives kids the advantage they need to succeed.
